It’s a very good movie. There was a point in it where I thought they were going to go full “Blazing Saddles”. If you can leave your sensabilities behind you, it’s a great date movie, and an education.
Samuel Jackons plays a fantastic House bad worder, Don Johnson was very good too. Wolton Goggins from “Justified” was in it and played his usual awesome bad self. Decaprio should get an Oscar, as well as Christoph Waltz.
I bet if the same movie was released in 1975 as a spahgetti/schlock western for 100K with no-named actors blowing away no-name euro-actors and twice the amount of n-words in the script, no one would have raised an eyebrow on either side. You can say that for pretty much all of his movies. The same movie is released in 2012 with a modern a-movie budget, modern special effects, famous idiot actors, and modern 24 hour mass media and its a big deal on all sides. I suppose it’s good for publicity, if nothing else.
