I could guess what the song is about, but can you elaborate? What style of music did you write it for?

It’s all based on expressing what I think is pertinent when thinking about the Obama administration, especially after seeing so many people express their joys when it comes to Liberalism and Obama. It’s about Obamacare, the odors of the Fascist economic model, Libya, and Hurricane Sandy. The title is a reference to the 2008 DNC speech and it presumes that the thrill was gone when it came to Obama and that he would lose. Here is what I wrote.

Greek Columns in Ruins

Verse 1:

There’s a structure made of pillars that cannot stand for way too long.

Made of weakened limestone the road isn’t far along.

It’s been chipping, almost fell for three times in 5 years.

But some worker without orders put in sweat and tears.

(Refrain)

I don’t know why we are wasting away in this desert sand.

And I am trying to reach out for a cloud made of hands.

There’s no need searching for what is already gone.

The integrity of a building melting into the sun.

Second Verse:

So many people seem to think that what is weak is really strong.

They buy into the management’s poisoned rights and wrongs.

They gave it a name when the last boss was around.

They refuse to use the same word when the new boss came to town.

(Refrain)

(Bridge)

Believe, be free but not if you make it to the top of the tower.

They’ll like you when you’re about to climb with no power.

The jealous demi-G-ds see all you guys as a kind of threat.

They hurl thunder bolts at the willing who make them upset.

(Bridge ends)

Your followers in robes don’t look into their mirrors.

Cause if they did they may see some needed tears.

You want to try real hard you want to be yourself.

But you join the mob who owns your future health.

(Refrain)

I was thinking more of a Folk melody for it.
