I voted on the first day of early voting, as soon as the polls opened.

The reason I did that was because when the new voter’s registration cards were mailed out, neither mine or my husbands arrived and I had to get duplicates resent to us. I have no way of knowing what happened to the originals or what hands they might have ended up in. Since we don’t have to show ID if we have that card, anybody could have used them to steal our votes. So I was there when the polls opened to prevent that from happening .... in the primaries, the run-offs, and the general election.

I’m voting around 2 PM so I don’t make the line longer for the working folk who come in later.

Then a power nap, order a pizza and it’s off to the War Room.

Hope Free Republic stays functional tomorrow night.

I vote on election day too.

I don’t believe in absentee or early voting other than right after the polls open.

Voted early last week as did hubby. We were 2 of 153,000 that voted early here in Albuquerque (pop 500,000+/-).

I had volunteered to drive people to the polls tomorrow and was just told they had so many volunteers they wouldn’t need them all. I thought that was a good sign!

I am arriving at the polls at 6:30am, so I can be one of the first to vote. As soon as I am done voting I will be spending the next 12 hours being a poll watcher for the Romney campaign. Let’s roll!!!

I’ll be in line ready to cast my vote when the polls open. Enroute to the polls I’ll be picking up this sweet little 90-year old black woman. I drove her last year (noone in her housing project would give her a ride because she’s a Republican) and she told me that zer0 “is an evil man”.....I talked to her yesterday to tell her I’d be picking her up again this year and she said “Dianne, I’ve been praying so hard; Obama needs to go before he destroys our nation”.....it’s my pleasure to escort her to the polls.

I voted early two years ago, because I had to be out of town for work on Election Day. Since the Obama economy has solved the work issue for me and now I have much more time on my hands, I’ll be voting tomorrow morning. The polling place is a literal stone’s throw from my house. I’ve lived in small towns and big cities and the polling places have always been close to home. I don’t understand all the efforts to make voting more “convenient,” so I’ll be voting on Election Day itself, as usual.

I’m taking the day off work ... vote first thing in AM, then go spend the day exercising my Second Amendment Rights.

With me it's a ritual. I take a vacation day from work - IMHO, Election Day should be a national holiday. I put up the flag and say a brief prayer of thanks that out of all the human beings ever born on Earth I am one of the tiny few who get to do this, and I remember those who gave everything so that I can.

I live in the country, and so the polls are set up at this little one-room schoolhouse we've restored, old lights, chalkboards, Palmer system cursive letters above them on green placards. It's November, so there'll be a fire in the wood stove in the corner, and the place will smell great. When I step inside the wood floors will creak under my boots and for just one brief second I truly understand the thing. I could be in the 18th century with Hamilton shouting at Jefferson outside, or Jackson's people illegally tapping a barrel of whiskey.

The desks are ringed, with The Oldest Ladies In The World checking ID and distributing ballots. I vote, I return the ballot, the lady slides it into the box and one of them announces in stentorian tones, "[Insert real name] Has Voted!"

Home and chores, and come 1700 my time, the polls back East are closing, and I log into FR and ride the evening out. Win or lose, the champagne will be opened, not to celebrate a victory, but to celebrate the freedom that lets me do this. That, my FRiends, really is worth defending, and if necessary, dying for.

Wife and I always vote on election day at about 6:30 P.M.

Will do so again this year.

Then have a bite to eat.

This year I think I will watch MSNBC just to see Chrissy Tingles cry like a baby.

Being retired, I will vote mid-day so working people have the early and late hours.

I have never voted early because of my distrust of the system.
