Pittsburgh wins 16-14 on last-second field goal — Why you care
Battleground Watch ^

Normally when Pittsburgh plays Philadelphia I might normally root for the blimp to crash into the stadium as I have no love for either franchise. But today’s game had special significance. According to Selena Zito of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review:

Wouldn’t that just be sweet bitter irony considering Coach Tomlin gave $40k to Barry and $40k to the DNC.

Honestly, I am ashamed of this organization top to bottom in their support for the Bathhouse Won.

I just hope the election is not as close as the game was.

Dan Rooney is Ambassador to Ireland thanks to his support of Obama.

Several times my crew was doing major restoration work in Thaw mansion next door to the Rooney home. Art Sr. used to stop over and visit with us. Since we worked long hours many times he would buy dinner for my entire crew at Sullivans’ just around the corner.

He was cool.

His sons not so much!...

HIS SONS NOT SO MUCH!

Never thought I’d say this, but as a dyed in the wool Ravens fan, I wasn’t even paying much attention to today’s games. I was all over the Nationals.

I watched the first half of the Ravens game and settled down for some high-stress baseball. I’m exhausted. I kept the Ravens game close on my laptop, but I’d gladly trade 11 Ravens losses for 11 Nats wins at this point.

I always enjoy seeing the Steelers lose, but today I didn’t care. Now you tell me it’s a good indicator that Obama is a November loser. I call that winning all around.

Art Sr. used to stop over and visit with us.

In the 60's the Stillers headquarters were in The Roosevelt Hotel, a downtown wreck of a hotel but they had a great "Rathskeller" Bar where they sold beer "by the yard".

The Chief and I {along with many others} put away more than a few "yards".

A yard was a three foot tall glass, with a bulb at the bottom and a wide top.

It was served with a wooden holder and only at the tables because it had to sit on the floor, not on the bar or the table.

I think the Steelers used to be Rush's favorite team.

Now that the NFL won't let Limbaugh be part of a combine of investors seeking to buy a team, I bet he's not even a fan of the NFL any more.

Rush is STILL a Stiller fan (he IS good friends with Art Rooney—the conservative son of the dementia addled, soon to be former, Ambassador to Ireland, Dan Rooney.) Dan Rooney’s brothers (and their sons) are almost exclusively Rs. Dan, I think suffered from some weird sort of “rich white man guilt” which explains his Obotness.

Now back to Rush—I do know that he DOES come to the Burgh and watches the Black & Gold from the Art Rooney luxe box at Heinz Field.

The same team thought that produced the ultra lib, dour Franco Harris also produced the ultra conservative, friendly and approachable, Lynn Swann. Go figure...

Hi Perdogg—it seems that the lines between celeb gossip and the political have been blurred by our Dear Leader. Come January I hope we can turn our attentions (a tad) towards LiLo et al:)
