A 10-year-old US girl suffering from cerebral palsy is too afraid to leave her house because her neighbours continually mock her disability.
Ohio girl Hope Holcomb has regularly been bullied by her nine-year-old neighbour, but recently the boy's father has also begun teasing the young girl with both being captured on film mocking the limp Hope suffers as a result of her illness.
"It started last year we had trouble on the bus, she was miserable she didn't want to ride the bus, cried every morning," Hope's mother Tricia Knight told Fox 8 News.
"He treats her like crap, and most recently the dad got involved."
The video, filmed by Hope's grandmother, shows William Bailey picking his son up from the bus stop and both walking to their car with a deliberate limp.
Hope's father was outraged when he watched the footage and questioned why a grown man would take aim at a young girl with a disability.
"It makes me sick too, to think that a grown man would tease a 10-year-old disabled girl that has never done a thing to any of them for no reason, and now she doesn't want to get on the bus to go to school," he said.
Mr Bailey's wife Vickie says the two families are involved in an ongoing dispute and denied her husband was trying to bully the young girl.
"He did get out of the car, you've seen the video I am sure, my kid was walking like, but no offense to Hope so why they are taking it that way, I have no idea," she told Fox 8 News.
Both families have filed complaints with the local prosecutor but no charges have been filed.

Fox8 News is my neck of the woods (NE Ohio). I’d like to know the name of the specific town where William Bailey, his wife Vickie, and their nine year old boy-turd live. Whether they’ve had problems with the other family or not, mocking a little girl with CP is lower than whale s***.
Good thing for them I wasn’t around.
We never needed laws to protect our kids from ridicule or bulling.. The remedies were well established, and completely accepted..
If it was boys, you let them work it out, if at all the participants were near equal.. Now, if the odds were unbalanced in any way, the parents got involved..
That said, in this case, with the dad involved, I would have kicked his ass.. yep..

Time to put your big girl pants on. Why would anyone let an obvious Darwin Award winner, get to you? The girls parents have to teach their daughter how wonderful she is. That her physical problems don’t define her. Take her to visit cancer patients, wounded military, and others with far greater problems than her own, so she can thank God for blessing HER.
You can’t change other peoples behavior or attitudes, you have to change your own. I hope she watches the Abby and Brittany Show.
I was a kid during the polio epidemic. Seeing kids with crutches such as hers was quite common. I can’t remember ever thinking of mocking them or others doing so. A different world.

My son was born premature in 1979 which caused his cerebral palsy - it’s called an oxygen insult to the brain due to his lungs not being fully developed. He was mocked in junior high by some punks whose parents received a phone call and ended up apologizing and stopping their nonsense. The school district had to be threatened with a lawsuit due to their constantly insisting he belonged with the severely retarded kids and wasn’t worth educating. He is now 33 years old, has a master’s degree, a good career and lives on his own. As for these neighbors, decorum prevents me from saying what they need.
I’m sure the neighbors all have very good jobs collecting cans and plastic bottles the day before the garbage trucks come by.
Have to disagree about changing other peoples behavior and attitudes. This crap kid and his father just need a competent, professional ass whipping. I may be getting old but I am more than willing to provide the service at no cost to the girl and her family. I have a brother with CP and my advise to those kind of people is; DON’T CROSS THE LINE!
Agreed, and I wouldn’t call it “bullying” either. It sounds like two feuding families that are each trying to score some points against the other.
Faucetman, she is a 10 yo little girl. She doesn’t have big girl pants. I have an 8yo grandson with CP and if I had seen a grown man mocking my grandson in such a manner, this 62yo military retiree would have given him something to limp about. Deliberately trying to hurt a little one is roundly condemned in the Bible. Bullies must be made to see the error of their ways.
