Anyone else feel like it's time for our next POTUS to start setting the terms for the upcoming debates with the current and exiting POTUS? With the liberal settings established and the liberal media ready to pounce on any possible code word that Romney issues, maybe it's time that the front runner in the race stops simply agreeing to whatever O wants and starts making some demands himself? If they don't want to do it - then don't debate - don't step into the liberal trap being set which is really all I see these debates are anymore. Thoughts?
I don't understand the question
In the long term it is more important that conservatives own a bigger share of the media - and that Republicans, conservatives, TEA Party folks, etc, take their business to those conservative networks.
The left wing mainstream and entertainment establishments have thrown all in with the Democrat party at this point, and yet the majority of Americans still get their news and cultural/social queues from those places.
It’s really time for rich conservatives to buy up as much media as possible, to fire hard left news rooms, to influence programming so that it doesn’t cheerlead for Obama/Democrats 24/7.
NO teleprompters, NO notes.
A little late for that.
His team should never have agreed to the lineup of moderators, and the GOP should demand a commission and process that selects more balanced moderators in the future.
Oh, and we shouldn’t have the press (or audience) asking any of the questions directly. Let the candidates ask questions of each other and the moderators only keep time.
Huh—better still, I think they should automate the time keeping. The mics can simply go off if the candidates go over. Really, I don’t see a need for a moderator at all.
Yup. Make Zero memorize his BS. No ear pieces either.
when it’s the truth and what you believe it flows with out problems.
When your lying your ass off you become a stumbling idiot trying to remember the lie.
Mark Levin as moderator.
Great choice. Rush would be good too.
The debate dates, time, place and moderators have already been set.
Are you wondering if Romney should now say - hey I don’t agree.
The first debate around Oct 6 is on domestic affairs.i.e,the economy and the last around Oct 22 about foreign affairs. Romney should insist they be reversed because the closer an airing of Obama’s weak point, the economy, to the election the better for the challenger.
Actually, more people always watch the 1st Presidential debate.(This hurt Nixon in 1960) The more eyes and ears on Obama stepping in it the better.
YES ,,,, but Mitt doesn’t have the cajones to call out the moderators like Newt did in the primaries . Expect softballs for 0bama and the fastball curve over the outside edge of the plate to Mitt .
” Get up ,, Stand up ,,, Stand up for your rights “ B.M. 1974 . . .
Candidates asking questions of each other? It would be a gotcha session and lack substance. They would try to one up or sabotage each other.
The advisors know that he can’t think on his feet and will do everything in their power to set up the debates to favor and coddle Bambi...
The media is already on their side. A little tweaking from Axelnuts and Dead Fish could go a long way.
I look forward to a Ryan/Biden festival. Now that’s gonna be a treat.
It’s the way it used to be done and there was real substance. Besides, the candidates can always pivot to answer as they want.
Agreed, but Rush is too well known and hated by the left. I think Levin would come in under the radar and the viewers on the fence for the election would be enlightened by logical questions being answered.
That’s a good point. I just wrote to Rove to share some of these ideas.
If Mitt Romney resets the debate as sharply as he did with Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich, there is no way for Barack Hussein Obama to even stay a distant second in the scoring.
Romney has the advantage of being to dip into a vast storehouse of past actions, old arguments, facts, statistics, and even some borderline stuff like old rumors and charges from the 2008 campaign between Herself, the Cold and Joyless, and Barack (that would cause MUCH stirring on the Left). Obama would be left stumbling, trying to play defense and “catch-up”, which is hard to do when shouting down the length of the track. And muffing the lines in the absence of a teleprompter.
And agreed, Ryan versus Biden would be a turkey shoot. Target rich and no defense but to outrun the shot.
The only thing he can do is practice handling gotcha’ questions, because that’s all he’s going to get, while Zero gets all softballs. The “news” media “moderators” (liberal attack sharks, to my mind!) are already prepping, and probably colluding with each other, on what Q’s to pepper Romney with.
Absolutely! Would love to see the lib media react to that choice! Why not?
