I don't think Eastwood has ever been in a "baseball" movie...

It will be released on Sept. 21...

I saw the preview of this movie last week. It looks really good, I was going to check it out before Eastwood appeared at the RNC Convention, now I am going to see it for sure. It also stars Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake

I will have to take the bad reviews of this movie with a grain of salt.

O yea I already do.

Generally I'm not a fan of sports movies, but Eastwood has more than earned my money on this one. Similarly, I'd never call myself a Justin Timberlake fan, but after his attendance at, and remarks about the Marine Corps Ball last November, I'll have no problem buying a ticket for this one.

I love Clint, but judging from the commercial alone, this movie looks like a depressing chick flick, dressed up as a sports movie.

I read this script. It is solid late Eastwood in his grizzled loner persona, like GRAN TURINO but with a happy ending. It should be a sizable hit, especially after all the free publicity attendant on his masterful RNC appearance. Nice bank shot there from Clint.

You're thinking of Kevin Costner in For Love of the Game

Oh yes, I’ll be going to that one.
Thanks, Clint!

Wife and I haven’t been disappointed yet in a CE movie... at least the newer ones he directed. This looks just as good...

Is there a scene in it where he is talking to an empty chair?

We are all going, showing our support and appreciation of Clint and the empty chair! Could have been about baseball, the moon or the zoo, we will be there to see it opening weekend!

Now THAT’s the spirit. If the left is STILL steaming over Clint’s RNC performance he obviously hit it out of the park.

I saw the movie last week with the wife. Yes, definitely a "chick flick" but that woman who played Eastwood's daughter was easy on the eyes. Eastwood delivered a solid performance as the grouchy, cantankerous old man with a heart, but the plot of the movie was a little ridiculous - if you are a knowledgeable baseball fan.

For other guys, I recommend this as a movie you can safely take your wife/girlfriend to. She will like the movie and you will not be embarrassed to be sitting there watching it.
