Hi, Doc!

We got 12 to 15 inches of rain at our house, depending on how accurate the rain gauge was with the rain falling horizontally in the spooky high winds! We live just two blocks off the beach (and not near a river) at around 18 feet or so above sea level, so the only flooding is standing water in low areas in our yards and the area. The storm surge was nothing to speak of on our section of the beach. In other areas of the MS Coast, the storm surge did cross the beach highway.

How are you and your husband doing? Are you almost all healed up now?

Hi Ladies, just back from a crab feast in DC. Damn suv with New York plates is doing 60mph in the left lane on 95, I flash and he won't move over, and when I pass him he flips me off. Geesh. Get back to NY and stay there.

How's your weekend? I moved 3+ tons of topsoil this weekend for the yard- in 40lb bags in a tiny saturn. But the yard is looking better, hope heavy rains don't screw it up.

Glad all is well with you Gina.

Idiots on the road. I’m certain most of them are Obama supporters—he gets the vast majority of the moron vote, after all.

We can completely relate to how much dirt you moved, Vision. I know exactly how tired you are after doing it!

We’re worn out, too. The backlog of storm cleanup jobs is overwhelming, and we’re sun-kissed and exhausted from a few days of it, with still many more days to go.

Short trip to Niagara Falls August 22-24. While there watched CNN's Wolf Blitzed (as El Rushbo dubbed him) gleefully report that Isaac was tracking for a direct collision with Tampa (my residence) coinciding with the RNC Convention. Attended the Grand Old Picture Show peripheral Convention event.

Wait! Phil Harris and Jack Benny are not the same person? I thought Harris was a character of Benny's. They are almost identical in voice, style, humor, inflection, etc.

Steel, the media sensationalized that storm from the very start, and the Republicans bought it. It was never headed to Tampa. It took a direct path right to where it came—here and southeastern Louisiana. The media still hypes it talking about New Orleans—New Orleans did not take a direct hit, just like it didn’t from Katrina, either.

The Grand Old Picture Show looks like it would’ve been a swell time!

Nah, I didn't attend any formal RNC event.

The films were excellent, educational, informative, activist. They were produced by libertarian film companies. There was a couple other films, by another group, that were added after the info went to the printer.

Here's the shortest (5:48), the "I, Pencil" video, based om essay by Leonard E. Read. I think it's quite good:

Vision, the time stamp is on the lower left corner of the image. It’s set in the Universal Time Constant (UTC), so you figure that time in relation to ours, and you know the time.

I agree, Vision. Whoever requested ALL “HUMOR” got a big dose, and I have not laughed.

Suspense, The Whistler, and at least detective mysteries are much better for the later part of the show.

Goodnight, All!
