A number of decades ago a friend of mine was picked up for DUI and put in a cell with a guy who attempted to rape him.
My friend broke his arm. They took him out, put him in a cast, and stuck him back in with my friend. He tried it again and my friend broke the guy’s other arm. Guards thought it was absolutely hilarious. He said every one of them wanted to shake his hand as he was leaving.
Today he’d probably be federally prosecuted for a hate crime.
The jail that guy is in is about 100 over capacity I think unless the new addition has opened. Looks like he's still at the River View Hotel. Anderson County Sheriffs Office Jail Database
