Besides, I'd rather have a Morgan. (smile)

They interest me as well. My knees won’t handle a bike these days but something like that would be great for taking off and going up north for a weekend on a whim.

Sit down and make a list of the pro's and con's of owning a Spyder. Investigate the number of 2 and 3 wheel accidents in your area. My biggest con is inattentive drivers that can kill you in a heartbeat while they are texting or talking on their cell phones.

I'd buy a 2 seat sports car like a BMW Z-series or a Honda and enjoy the ride and the insurance savings over a 3 wheeler.

My last two bikes were a Honda ST1100 and a Honda Pacific Coast. I finally gave up riding last fall due to the risks. The Can Am Spyder eliminates many of the risks, and helps with perspicacity among the cagers who might otherwise not see you.

My brother has a Can Am Spyder, one of the early sport models. I’ve ridden it and enjoy it immensely. Its been completely reliable but goes through tires quicker than expected.

As soon as the new touring models have been in the used market a number of years (i.e., when they become affordable) I’m probably going to buy one.

With starting prices of $16,000 new, it’s a luxury item.

If it’s time for a luxury, and $ is not the issue, then do it - enjoy.

go for the morgan

I have never liked the Can-Am - it looks stupid and you will look stupid driving it

get a 3 wheel rear-wheel chopper if you must (in Tucson, AZ I used one only because there is so much sand you can get killed slipping on it with a 2-wheeled regular bike)

They get gas miulage that sux, considering. I Honda Civic get better gas milage

Just my opinion - and I am grouchy with a headache this AM

I quit riding years ago. Had Honda Goldwings and Kawasakis. My wife rode her own Goldwing. I do miss the wind in my hair. But mostly I miss my hair...............

I would definitely take it for a test ride and see what you think. From what I’ve heard it’s a very different animal than what people think it is.

If you like snow mobiles this seems a lot closer to that than a motorcycle. There is no leaning involved so it seems to be a very different ride. I saw that goofy green Morgan on Top Gear. It does great doughnuts.

Heck...I’d do it.

My wife wants a motorcycle desperately. I, however, am afraid of the darn things. But...having sat on a Can-Am, I could see myself riding one. I’ve seen 3 or 4 of them out on the road up here in the rainy Seattle area.

I just saw this after posting my last comment. It appears to be no safer than a motorcycle.

Motorcyclist Dies From Injures In Broken Arrow Crash Posted: Jul 30, 2012 7:36 AM CDT Updated: Jul 30, 2012 7:36 AM CDT

Russell Hulstine, NewsOn6.com - email

BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -

A motorcyclist has died from injuries sustained in a Broken Arrow crash Sunday evening.

Police say the crash at the intersection of Olive and Albany involved a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck and a motorcycle.

Police say the pickup truck driven by an adult female was stopped westbound in the inside lane at a red light. After the light turned green, police say the driver proceeded to drive through the intersection.

At this point, Broken Arrow Police say her pickup truck was struck in the rear by a three-wheel motorcycle driven by a male adult.

The cyclist was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he later died of his injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

The name of the cyclist was not released pending notification of next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation.

“Thinking of arranging a test ride before I seriously start pursuing the idea. “

Good idea because it may not be at all what you expect it to be.

I don't ride anymore. Just too many bad drivers.

I enjoy a top down ride in a sports car almost as much, and I feel safer.

I'd rather find one of these Can Ams. Not too many left anymore.

They seem far safer than regular motorcycles. I have seen some tricked out ones that look incredible.

I have a Seadoo RXT (Same Company) and they make good products.
