Drought could go through October: forecasters

After the hottest half-year on record in the United States, hotter, drier conditions from the Southwest, through the Midwest and across the East Coast from Florida to Maine are forecast to continue through October, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said at a briefing.

Which really doesn’t mean a helluva lot they also predicted more and stronger hurricanes for the past 3 years and we didn’t get them.

On the other hand we sure do need some rain.

Rain? That would be nice, but...

What we need are taxes - lots of ‘em. Carbon taxes, global taxes, donations to the Democrat Party, and of course the obligatory UN taxes. Maybe Al Gore will skim a few million off the top to pocket his ‘fair share’ as well.

Well, where I live it means no more appreciable precipitation until next April or May because we no longer get any snow in the winter.

Heard on the news the drought in Indiana is so bad that trees are dropping their leaves and going dormant.
