put a bowl of balsamic vinegar with a dash of palmolive dish liquid under a night light overnight. all insects will jump in and drown.

Get some hummingbirds - they love those small little gnat/flies. I do not know how to get hummingbirds out of the house though.Or bats! Bats love 'em too. Of course, you get guano for the garden the next day.

Fans that keep air moving briskly work with ants, flys, and skeeters. Skin so soft or a skin lotion derivative help. Fans are also great for working on cars etc.

This is also a bad year for the deer fly. These are the flies that buzz around and around your head as you are walking, only to eventually land on the back of your head or neck and savagely bite. The bite is not as bad as the constant buzzing around and around your head. That is aggravating.
I found a solution to this and it is the Tred-Not deer fly strips that you can affix to the back of a hat. When you are wearing one of these, the flies go right for the strip and once they land, they are not getting off.
It does look a little gross to be walking around with dead or dying flies stuck to the back of your cap but it definitely makes it more pleasant to be outside this time of year.

So, if you lay down with fleas does that mean you will get dogs or just an itch that cant be scratched? Hmm, I never considered that. It sounds like a logic problem.

We declaered TOTAL War on them, We DEEP Cleaned our kitchen and found a GROSS, Rotten Apple that must have had over 1k flies on it, GONE! We also have a drain in out laundry room and we poured the a bucket of the HOTTEST water down it yesterday and today we saw a SIGNIFICANT reduction on flies! :-)! I hope that the flies that were on that apple ENJOY the over 100 deg F day out in the trash can!
