Actually, its not that far south. A lot closer to the equator than Florida is.

That is what I was thinking. Maybe they should just move a little west and down in elevation.

I suspect that even in the winter the Pacific Ocean is still 75 degrees Fahrenheit at that latitude

True, but Florida gets freezes and it’s barely above wave-height. 4000m is a long way up and probably makes a big difference.
