No where in the 1860 census are those numbers.

I don’t claim they are yours but you are defending them as being accurate. I would be happy to discuss this with the authors but they don’t seem to be on this thread.

Why are you limiting the issue to “free” or “free white” portions of the population? Could it be that to include the WHOLE population would show you to be completely wrong?

All too often one of the Defenders of the Cornfederacy tells us of a mythical ancestor ruined by the Damned Yankees because of his treason. Unhinged by bitterness at the loss of the family’s Darkies they argue and quibble over trivial crap and care more about the lost glory of the past, even though totally fictitious, than they do the current crisis.

Since you name yourself after Pea Ridge I assumed you were from N. Arkansas. If not then you are really strange.

I am seriously concerned with your thinking and comprehension, and I believe that trying to post answers here are taxing your awareness.

However, I will attempt to help you.

You said: “You seem very confused about the concepts (of income and wealth)".

As I said, I did not initiate the term wealth, and both of the terms come from the sources I cited for you.

Again, I simply ask that you read the sources provided to you with some degree of care.

You said: “No where in the 1860 census are those numbers.”

If you read the sources, you will see that they are derived from calculations, and they give you the data. Do not think so literally or else you will begin to think you are being deceived.

You said: “ (You are) defending them as being accurate.

I have given you multiple sources and all of the sources agree to +/- .5%. Perhaps that kind of congruence is not sufficient, but it seems the norm that those economists accept as valid. If you don't, so be it.

You said: “I would be happy to discuss this with the authors but they don’t seem to be on this thread.”

I know that you think that that was amusing, however, the logic of not being able to obtain relevant data without speaking to a specific author is not usually seen as realistic, therefore, not humorous.

You said: “Why are you limiting the issue to “free” or “free white” portions of the population?

I am not ‘limiting’ anything except to the parameter of your original question, which you have now retracted as being “inaccurate”, but more likely another slip of your thinking.

You said: “Could it be that to include the WHOLE population would show you to be completely wrong?”

I wouldn't think so due to the compensation of slave labor.

Well, you were wrong.........again. In a way, I hate to say that, but you have been wrong on a dozen topics on just this one thread.

You ought to keep some resource material close at hand to help with the memory.
