I suspect they did, but it’s pretty common for kids who have been through this kind of abuse to deny deny deny...part of their coping mechanism. Then all of a sudden something triggers it and they can’t keep it inside any longer. I feel sorry for all of the kids, as I suspect this one is not alone, and in any event they were living under the roof of a monster.
I agree with you, even though we cannot prove it, I can’t believe his wife did not know, or at least suspect. Yet she chose not to say anything. I would not want to live with that kind of guilt.
she probably explained it off as just rowdy fun...no one hurt...and afterall, the poor boys just “loved” Mr. Jerry...
She more or less admitted it when she said the basement wasn't soundproof and there's no way someone yelling for help could go unheard in their home. I totally believe her on that one. I also believe she just sat their and let the abuse go on.
