BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A woman who was set on fire at a gas station says she's being victimized again, this time by hundreds of dollars in car towing fees levied by the state of Florida.
Naomie Breton, 34, has to pay $340 for having her car towed from the gas station where police say the father of her son set her on fire Monday, television station WPBF of Palm Beach, Fla., reported.
"I think it's a disgrace," Breton told WPBF. "It's not like I had a choice of where my car went to. I was on fire. So therefore, my car is here now and I have to pay you to get what's mine back? That's not right."
Adding insult to injury, Breton also is on the hook for the $363 towing bill -- plus the $25-a-day late fee -- owed by the man accused of attacking her, Roosevelt Mondesir, WPBF reported.
Both his and her names are on the car. Mondesir, 52, is behind bars at the Palm Beach County Jail, being held without bail on a charge of attempted first-degree murder.

yet again Govt has no morals...you are but a number and a price tag to them.
$363 sounds a little bit high, but the guy who towed it has to make a buck.I am sure the Police called a private tow company to move the car.He pobably is also charging storage fee’s.
It sounds bad, but the car couldn’t be left at the business man’s pumps.
Who’s supposed to pay for it?
Life’s tough and then you die. In a just world, the creep who started the fire would pay but the vehicle’s owner is next in line.
“”It’s not like I had a choice of where my car went to. I was on fire.”
Let me say upfront I do not wish to belittle this woman in any way when I say this...
Who, in all their life would think they would utter this string of words in seriousness? Secondly, how freaking screwed up is a society that would create a scenario that would require this sentence to be uttered, much less conceived?
It sounds like a Richard Prior skit gone bad.
Doesn’t Florida have some sort of crime victim’s fund that can be shuffled to pay the fees?
Period.
I don’t know what to say. She could have easily died from being set afire. But, she’s most pissed off about the bill from her car being towed?????
Sounds like she had a kid with this creep. Which raised the question: Who is paying for the kid?
I know. Silly question.
Real simple. Take it from the welfare check of the criminal who assaulted her, not from the victim.
The tow truck owner gets paid.
The criminal is punished, not the victim.
Win-Win.
So why wasn’t she also fined for having a fire in city limits without a permit?
Hey, that's racist...dontcha know / S
This is what I was wondering. Or maybe someone charitable can assist her. I don’t know her circumstances, so my heart’s not hard against her.
The perfect solution-—only it won’t happen unfortunately.
When I woke up this morning, I had no idea I was going to read this sentence.
So why wasnt she also fined for having a fire in city limits without a permit?

Wait till she gets the bill for the ambulance and ER visit.
Like ‘they’ said, the perp probably has less than she does, so WE will get to pay her bills, his lawyer and the prosecution of him.
Definitely BOHICA time.
This is just one big Cluster FLuck isn’t it?
Real simple: she asks the judge to give her the guy’s car, so she can sell it to cover expenses. It’s not he needs a car at the moment.
