So how does Mr. Economist (sarc) prove that? We should reject this loudly and point out that the he’s obviously clueless. We should pounce on this, he’s effectively declaring “I’ve no idea how to fix this” - in 10 years anything should be possible. The real question is, Mr. President, why should it take that long? Explain why.

Even if true, then why should I vote for you? Why not somebody else that may at least have some ideas to get things turned around sooner?

Isn’t he supposed to be some “savior”, a magically intelligent problem solver? (I still can’t wrap my head around why *anybody* would think that!) If he’s saying he can’t fix it in the next term, what is the point of voting for you? You bring nothing to the table.

This wreaks of somebody trying to get us to accept low expectations. He seems to not get the fact that, if that’s the case, then there’s no compelling reason to vote for him.

Bullshit, Romeny will have the motor in gear and out of the ditch within three months. Maybe before he even gets sworn in.

That has nothing to do with instant gratification. This is the biggest job in the world. If they can’t get the economy right after four years, we have to get rid of them and get somebody in there who can. This is not a position for on the job training. Meaning well doesn’t cut it.

We may have a problem with a need for instant gratification, but in this case sticking with the same horse would be throwing good money after bad.

He never said the word malaise in that speech. I didn’t find it all that remarkable. But it struck a nerve with the people. His policies had everything in the crapper, and he turned around and tried to blame it on the American People, just as this fakir has or will try to do. Roosevelt did it too... end the recession, give a man a job. With what, you moron?
