Dawson seemed to thing that AUPD will make an arrest today, so you are prolly correct. As was pointed out, this will fall of the national radar soon. Things like this happen every day. It won’t fall out of our radar. If we can get upset about trees, this gets us so much more upset. Humans are involved. I think all involved are black. Don’t think this can become racial. However, JJ and Sharpton have never made sense in that respect.

How old is Pitts? Priors going back to ‘89? Is he old enough?

Statement from our mayor: Auburn, AL - Auburn Mayor Bill Ham, Jr. released the following statement in conjunction with today’s press conference regarding the recent shootings:

“On behalf of the citizens of Auburn, I express our deepest sympathy to the families of the victims of the tragic shooting in Auburn last night. We are distraught that violence was used in such a senseless way and young lives were lost. While violence is unsettling to our peaceful community, I have full confidence that our Police will handle this matter in a most professional manner, and will provide information to a concerned community as it is appropriate.”

[FWIW, Ham was a classmate of mine. When we were in the eighth grade, he would call me many nights and I’d tutor him in euclid geometry. I wonder who does his math now?]

When trying to figure out JJ/Rev Al, always ‘follow the money.’ Race is only the hook. If there are no deep pockets involved, they have no interest.

So, are you trying to say that the victims deserved to die? What does it matter that they were in a fist fight. Have you never been in or witnessed a "good, old fashioned" fist fight? There is NOTHING that I have heard so far that would indicate that what went on should have provoked the perps to use guns with DEADLY FORCE.

The perps could have just an easily LEFT. Did you read the "eye-witness" account saying that: "Ed Christian was not one of the people fighting. He was holding one of his friends back, trying to stop the fight, when he was shot."???

Please don't judge things about which you don't have all the facts.

So, are you trying to say that the victims deserved to die?

Do you always look for the most bizarre, twisted interpretation of other's comments that you can conjure up?

I will take that as a “no” and make no further comments on your comment. Thanks.

Getting bashed over the head with a glass bottle seems to me to be an attack with a lethal weapon. That, imo, justifies the use of a gun.

I agree that Ed Christian and most of the others didn’t do anything and were innocent bystanders. But that Demario Pitts is the one bashing with the bottle and he, frankly, was not a stranger to serious trouble.

You have to take my comments #40 and #46 together, as well as the replies to me in #42 and #48. It’s all just speculation and possibilities at this point. No one knows exactly what happened yet.

Not one word from them. Three 20 year blacks dead today.

When will African Americans realize that Obama, Sharpton, and Jackson are there for them only when a white man is involved? Same with the liberal media....this story is buried already.

Jemian, was that the “Punt Bama Punt” game?

Yes, I was a freshman in the band. My boyfriend at the time was also in the band and since we played the same instrument, we were sitting together. But he kept bad-mouthing us all through the game. Hwhen we blocked those punts he continued to give his objective viewpoint. I then gave him my objective viewpoint. We never went out again.
