Sorry, nope again. The rules in effect when George was born did not make him a US citizen. It gave him dual citizenship till age of majority, at which time he could apply for US citizenship. Otherwise he was a Mexican citizen.
There is also the issue of his father renouncing his US citizenship when he fled to Mexico to avoid prosecution in the US for polygamy.
Interesting info on Romney and NBC status.
So Romney’s grandfather renounced his US citizenship when he fled to Mexico? So Romney’s grandfather was a Mexican citizen when George Romney was born, is that what you are saying?
That is quite fascinating.

Father? Grandfather? Great-grandfather? I've never seen anything to suggest that anyone in Mitt Romney's polygamous heritage renounced U.S. citizenship but I'd be interested in seeing it if you have it.
In early 1885, Miles Park Romney, Mitt Romneys great-grandfather, and his (then) four wives fled St. Johns, Arizona, to avoid arrest by federal marshals for polygamy. However, they fled to Salt Lake City instead of Mexico. There, according to Romney family history, the President of the LDS church advised Romney to flee to Mexico.
My information comes from award-winning LDS historian Todd Compton, who has written an article about Mitt Romney's polygamous heritage that doesn't mention a renunciation of U.S. Citizenship. Compton considers himself a 'faithful' LDS historian and a faithful Saint, although much of his well-sourced historical writing would not past the 'faith-promoting' test of the late LDS Apostle Boyd K. Packer.
Again, I'd be interested in anything you have to support a renunciation of citizenship.
