So my question to you is, "How far is too far?" What exactly would cause you to throw up your hands re a candidate's policies? Would there ever be a case where he's too far left for you?

You are not thinking this through. Ignore the “fluff” crap that comes out of a politician’s mouth, and focus on the things that he really does have power to affect. He’s not going to appoint judges based on their fondness for homos and he’s not going to give children to gay couples.
