In my own case I’ll stick around for some issues posting and talk radio news, etc., but will try in the future to not bring up the name of M___ R_____.
Adiós amigo. Vuelve cuando estés mejor.
hey, maybe its their investment in righteous indigantion which can be so satisfying in a tyranny.
Why did you have to announce it to the world?
Bu Bye! And by the way, censorship is what government’s do. When private individuals choose to exclude RINO socialists, it’s called “Freedom of Association.”
You say goodbye and I say hello.. Hello, hello. I don’t know why you say goodbye I say helloooo, oh oh oh.,
Hey la, hey la lo la. Hey la, hey la lo lay.

Yes, because those fears have turned out to be unrealized and unfounded.

Be the change you want to see. Don’t run off over whatever the latest disagreement is. This too will pass.
he’s Mitt Romney’s brother-in-law. So he expects to be back to gloat.
Maybe west Texas will be overrun with marauders and he will lose internet service.
Why do you feel the need to announce this?? Plenty of us have taken a break from FR and not felt the need to do the “look at me! look at me! look at me!”. You disagree with the way things are done. I’m sure we all have at some time or other.
Man up. Take a break. But whatever else you do, don’t be an attention wh@re.
>> “Censorship...is the hallmark of an authoritarian regime...”
Free Republic is not a regime.
I understand your sentiments. Emotions are running high at the moment. That’s not a bad thing. We scream at one another online in this millenium where 200 years ago they railed in the pubs and in the public square.
All this is in the run-up to the fall elections following a contentious primary season. I say again, emotions are running high.
If I see people being banned for simply stating their opinions, even in an intemperate manner with high emotion, then it will be time to consider leaving this forum. Let that not be so.
Don’t bother.
On second thought, if I’m allowed a second thought, you are right to leave. This place has gotten nasty! Just read through this very thread, if you don’t believe me. In the olden days, an opus would invite congratulations, like those customarily extended to freed slaves, or prisoners who have completed their debt to the society, not to mention to new Ph.D graduates in social justice sciences. More, as you must surely remember, there were flowers, kisses and offers of financial assistance to the opus authors. And now? Jeers , insults and complaints about the substandard quality of the opus. The place has gone to hell, indeed.
Leave or don't leave. There is no opus for a hiatus.
Leave or don't leave. There is no opus for a hiatus.
What have we done to deserve this sorry excuse for an opus? If you’re going to go away for good, do it with style. Write up a Jim Dandy with big words and lots of rhetoric, baseless complaints, outrageous lies and foretelling of doom upon your departure. Here you’ve done wrote a sissy-dog of a letter which kindergarteners would laugh at. Years ago some guy flamed out here big time . . somebody help me out here. FatBoySlim? or something like that. He wrote one for the ages. Of course he was deservedly booted. But next time just slink away quietly in the night instead of something like this.
“It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.”
Next lemming to walk off the cliff, feel free to use this as an opener.
Pretend leaving means something to you.
