Needed: A web site where I can look up a movie with just a vague description of its plot

I have been looking for ages for the titles for two movies, and I only have a vague memory of the basic premise or plot: One: a small town, where the sheriff (or mayor) and the whole town are so crooked that they bet on anything, and they end up betting the who treasury on the results of a fight that they go to more and more ridiculous ends to cheat and win. (the word 'dog' in the title?)

Two: An old B/W movie where a man and his lover scheme to drive his wife crazy, setting up horrible scenes of death etc. only to clean up the signs later. (like this he can have her committed, and marry the lover.) LOL I guess 'no fault' divorce wasn't an option. (or money was involved...)

Anyway, I can't find a web site that caters to my needs! Can anyone help?

I'm afraid that even IMDB is of little use if the social system has banned, or otherwise erased a movie (or book) from memory.

I have had a similar search for a few years now.

If memory serves, the book, a parody, was about the future anti-smoking society, where swat teams (Smokejumpers) parachute to root out and capture or kill smokers.
There is also a movie based on the book, which is hilarious. I recall a scene where an old woman is losing her purse to a purse-snatcher, and another victim is being beaten to a pulp, and the Smokejumpers ignore it all in pursuit of a smoker.

I would dearly love to get a DVD of that film but, according to all search engines, it never existed.

I am looking for the same thing. IMDB is supposed to have all the movies made listed BUT THEY DON’T!

Have you ever found an explanation for this?

"Have you ever found an explanation for this?"

Well for a time i surmised it was because they didn't list any really bad movies. However I noticed they list "Dr. T and the Women" so that blew my theory all to hell!

I'm fairly sure they do However when I use the term Really Bad Movies Killer Tomatoes doesn't come near such a level. Dr. T and the Women is so bad one could do violence to anyone associated with the production and use the extreme Shittiness of the Movie as a successful defense in about any court of law.

***Have you ever found an explanation for this? ***

Usually under a different date or name.

I was looking for a B&W Van Heflin movie as I saw it in SE Asia in B&W so I didn’t pay any attention to color films. Now I find it was filmed originally in color.

As to THE IRON MAIDEN, I still claim I saw it in Dec 1960 at the Caverns Theater in Carlsbad NM. It says it was released in 1963. I remember it well as there were certain incidents at the theater which branded it in my mind.

I remember where I saw every movie after 1953. I saw THE IRON MAIDEN in Carlsbad double billed with BELLS ARE RINGING. I was living in Arkansas in 1963 and the only movies I saw that year were KINGS OF THE SUN, VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA and EL CID.

Ok, I really need help finding out the titles of two movies. All I know about the first movie is a couple of scenes from the preview a while ago and the second one I know a bit more.
1. A wife catches a flat tire on her way home and call her husband but he did not answer so she leaves a voicemail and she notices a car and telks her husband she is going to ask for help. Boom scene ends and everyone wants to blame the husband. And I did not get further than that.
2. Now I know steven king wrote it I think it maybe the graveshift but cannot ever find it. It is about a college student who works nights at the morge and his friends pull pranks on him but it gets serious. Please help.

For your first, it sounds like BREAKDOWN.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118771/

or FRANTIC.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095174/

The other is possibly NIGHTWATCH (1994)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119791/

or this NIGHTWATCH (1977)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110631/?ref_=tt_trv_trv

You might try IMDB.com and click on their plot keywords.
