(No wonder Chaucer’s obsolete. Who can figure out what he’s talking about?)
And bathed every veyne in swich licour,
Of which vertu engendred is the flour;
And bathed every vein in such liquor,
Of which virtue engendered is the flower;
The words mean the same thing. They are only spelled differently.
