Put it in the microwave with a small dish of water for about 30 seconds. Then eat it as soon as it’s cool enough to touch, before it turns even harder when it’s back at room temperature.
I'll remember that for next time. Part of it became chew toys for He and She (after I sawed it into pieces with a serrated bread knife) and part of it is in the trash. The icky side of the trash, where it doesn't merit redeeming for purposes of the microwave experiment.
