A new book by an ex-CIA spook claims that Cuban dictator Fidel Castro knew about Lee Harvey Oswald's plot to assassinate President John F. Kennedy and did nothing to stop it.
Author Brian Latell was the agency's former national intelligence officer for Latin America and is now a senior research associate in Cuban American studies at the University of Miami.
In the upcoming volume, "Castro's Secrets: The CIA and Cuba's Intelligence Machine," Latell writes that on Nov. 22 1963, Castro ordered his intelligence officers in Havana to drop their normal responsibilities and pay close attention to communications coming out of Texas "any little detail small detail from Texas," The Miami Herald reported.
Latell also writes that Oswald became frustrated after Cuban embassy officials denied his attempts to travel there, and told Cuban intelligence officials he would kill Kennedy to prove his allegiance to Castro and the communists.

WAS OSWALD A POOR SHOT?
THE MARKSMANSHIP ABILITY OF PRESIDENT KENNEDY’S ALLEGED ASSASSIN
Ah, the Great US Note conspiracy. One of my personal favorites.
A small bit of research would reveal that United States Notes were nothing other than Lincoln’s Greenback currency issue, which were still being carried on the Treasury’s books 90 years later. By the time of the 1963 Series US Notes were primarily issued as $5 bills.
When we still had Silver Certificates it made sense to distinguish between Silver Certs redeemable in silver coin and non-redeemable currency like US Notes and Federal Reserve Notes.
But when the Coinage Act of 1965 removed silver from our money, in response to the Triffin Dilemma, there ceased to be any real difference between American currency issues. US Notes continued to be printed as $100 bills because their issue was mandated by law, but a Congressional act in the early 70s removed that requirement and the US Note issue was absorbed into the larger FRN issue.
So sadly, the US Note conspiracy fades away like so much smoke.
A few months after the assassination I watched a film where a person in a tower, using the same weapon, shot into an open car simulating the Kennedy car going at the same speed, direction and distance.
He had no trouble making the shots, and easily made them in the time period attributed to Oswald. -Tom
IMHO, it had deep Masonic roots. Almost any significant power structure could have been involved and most likely played adequate parallel interests where multiple parties were involved. Oswald may have simply been a patsy, but a very knowledgeable, willing, and plausible patsy.
Whomever was involved, I perceived part of LBJ’s depression after his first term may have been subsequent to recognizing the limits of his power to control such a beast.
I saw a VERY convincing tv show placing the blame squarely on the Masons! The show was sandwiched between the one describing the lonely, furtive wanderings of the sad and misunderstood Bigfoot, and that great documentary about the nubile young girl who was kidnapped and sexually abused by aliens.
“Third is the Ngo family as payback for the events of 1 Nov 1963 in Saigon”
Of course there was very little Ngo family left by the end of the month. It wasn’t just Diem who was murdered but his family as well. A Medieval thought which I’ll admit to harboring is that JFK’s death was divine retribution for his role in the murder of Diem and his family. Frederick Nolting was outraged by our role in Diem’s death.
That 1963 coup was one of our stupidest moments. It left Vietnam rudderless for years, Ho Chi Minh could barely believe his good fortune. Lyndon Johnson inherited an out of control South Vietnam and this led to his decision to send in US combat troops, opening an entirely new problem.
Not so much the incentive, but the mechanics during and after the fact. Behavior of Jack Ruby. Every shadow group appears to have had incentive. After the event, none are directly held accountable. It’s almost as if the event was controlled by an upper echelon group.
There is one group not always mentioned with very real incentive. Remember this was after the Bay of Pigs and after other promises to Vietnam. There were many patriotic military and black ops types who may have perceived JFK’s lack of virtue far exceeded that of all the Presidents since FDR. He was Catholic and unfaithful to his wife.
Within those numbers there probably have been some very vengeful leaders believing they were defending a better world by assassination. If placed in the right time and place, multiple players could have acted, with different incentives and perspectives, and remained quiet and devoted to their cause after the fact. Up front sleeper cells, if you will,...commit the act then obediently remain retired.
In any case, the entire Oswald affair had so many real world mistakes that it seems the most plausible.
You’re going to launch an entirely new conspiracy cult, and you’ll be hounded as a heretic when you claim that you were only joking.
INCONCEIVABLE! But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemy's? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me....
Oh Mr. K as a physicist you are saying you are smarter about balistic physics than that genius of the one-bullet mind and physics bending theory, Senator Spector?
I remember as a young man listening to a friend of my cousin who worked for the State Department in Saigon. This friend who was only introduced by his first name spent an hour or so one Sunday afternoon during siesta time unsealing the size and inferred influence and wealth of the Ngo’s and a couple of other Viet families, the Tho’s I think was another such. Members of the Ngo family were spread around the world, in Hong Kong, Taiwan, France, the USA, and Great Britain. While not nearly as large or wealthy as the Soong clan from China they had global reach of a quite but very persuasive sort and probably, this man observed, had the resources and the capacity to orchestrate something like the JFK murder within a few weeks.
On other thing, Ido know that it was generally believed ‘Big Minh’ gave the direction before the coup to kill off the Ngo leadership. While he remained in SVN he appeared very take in public and lived in a heavily guarded villa. After 1975 he fled to the US and lived in Honolulu until his death. Again, he was a virtual, wees, thy recluse living in a pretty big house that was guarded as tightly as the Kremlin by male members of his family. Minh apparently did not leave his house fir months or eventually years. He was clearly apprehensive of someone.
That’s very interesting about the Vietnamese family structure. Would Ngo Dinh Diem have been the Tuc for his family?
Big Minh wound up being President right at the very end of South Vietnam’s existence. When Saigon fell he advocated surrender rather than fighting to the bitter end and that surely made him a collaborator to some people. He probably feared that they would come looking for him.
So Jim Garrison said, and some people believe him.
BUT: after the Italian Army as a whole reequipped with the .30 M1 in 1952, the Italian Army Marksmanship Team continued to use the Mannlicher-Carcano for more than a decade.
I’ve seen that interview. It’s very good.
Here is a radio interview with Mark Lane who has written books about the assassination.
You are right of course that Big Minh, who probably had at least part of one foot in the VC camp had a lot of Viets right in Honolulu who considered him an arch traitor both for 1Nov63 and then the events of 1975.
