Yeah, she’s pretty much limited it to three states. None of them in the South. She even has #1 daughter on board, who’s going to follow her mom with the grandkids. I’m stuck with this.
A couple of decades ago I lived in the Santa Ynez Valley, in the mountains above Santa Barbara. Yes, Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch is/was located there, but most of the towns in this valley, at least when I lived there, were VERY conservative. Santa Barbara and Goleta are nearby....Goleta has all the big box stores, such as Costco, Sam’s Club, etc. etc. Nice weather in the Santa Ynez Valley, and lots of vineyards. I lived in Solvang.....a slice of Denmark in small town California.
Texas, as you know, has no state income tax. California has a high income tax and will most likely go even higher in the near future. From what I heard, Santa Barbara has a large TEA Party contingent, in spite of being a rather liberal city.
If you just HAVE to move, check out Eastern Washington.
I have two web friends who are mom and daughter. Daughter lives West of Snoqualmie Pass near Seattle and mom lives to the East of the Pass several hours away. The worst weather is West of the Pass.
I haven’t seen you post where you live in Texas. I’m sure there are some rednecks, but not many areas with them and it would depend on your wife’s definition of ‘redneck’.
Things like that remind me to be glad I’m not married. Good luck in whatever commie hole she takes you to, man.
