Has Romney won any states that McCain Carried in 2008?

Romney only pulled about 10% of the vote in Virginia ~ due to the INCREDIBLE fall off in voters.

With no Conservative candidate(s) to vote for Virginia voters ~ both Democrats and Republicans ~ didn't bother to show up in the open state primary.

Romney cannot attract the party base ~ he should take the Virginia results as a reason to quit running. That's the best he can do on his own with no one else stirring the pot.
