Worst Acting in a Major Movie (Name your examples)
Self | June 26, 2011 | PJ-Comix

I was just watching the original "True Grit" starring John Wayne. Yes, he deserved his Oscar for the role of Rooster Cogburn but opposite him was someone who played his part horribly. I am talking about Glenn Campbell as the Texas Ranger. Sheesh! Talk about stilted delivery. Really bad. Another example of bad acting was also in a John Wayne movie---"The Alamo." It was Frankie Avalon as Smitty who was supposed to be a young Tennessee frontiersman. I like Frankie Avalon in the beach flicks but, let's face it, he was waaay too urban to be believable in the role of Smitty. Whenever I see "The Alamo," it is impossible to forget that this is just a movie because of Frankie Avalon's completely unconvincing acting.

There are many other major movies with examples of really horrible acting. I cited a couple of such examples, so please list yours.

Two come immediately to mind:

Lou Gossett Jr. in Jaws 3(-D)
Willem Dafoe in Boondock Saints

There are so many potential winners in the Star Wars movies, but I have to agree with you. I had to use Google to make sure I agreed because my thought was “the guy who played the teenage Anakin” without having any idea what the loser’s name was.

I’m sure I’ll forget it within an hour. Hopefully everyone in the movie business has already done the same so we don’t have to see him on-screen again.

“I always thought William Shatner wasn’t a very good actor, that whole Star Trek crew was lucky to get their parts and even luckier to have the fan base grow.”

Check on YouTube for Shatner singing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

Yes, but lines like, ...”To crush your enemies, see them driven before you ... and to hear the lamentation of their women!”,..are somewhat memorable.

I thought he said that as Gov. My bad. lol

How can you make it past the premise to even watch that one?
A plane at cruising altitude has to be heated or its freezing. WWII aircraft were freezing even flying at lower altitudes hence the heavy bomber jackets even in summer.

Turn the heat down to 38 and you get a plane full of hibernating reptiles.

I did go ahead and watch “Snakes on a Tricycle” on YouTube.

I actually thought the child Anakin was not too bad - definitely not in the top 10 of bad Star Wars performances.

He was a bit obnoxious/precocious, but I think the role called for it.

Kevin Costner in anything but Robin Hood Prince of Thieves was the worst.

Sad part is Russel Crow's Robin Hood is 10x worse than Kevin Costner's.
