Not to mention that many GB fans are owners of the franchise. GB takes football frenzy to a far higher level than elsewhere. It’s a discipleship.

In my home, I’m a Packers fan from the get-go. My wife was born in Pittsburgh yet through our 30 years of marriage has come to follow the ‘Pack’. Our son, through peer influence, is a Bears fan. Yet, all three of us are rooting for the Pack tomorrow. !!GO PACK!!

Oh, OK. I didn’t know that. I was kidding trisham, thinking it was a misunderstanding.

By halftime they will be able to play music or whatever they do at the station since the game will be well beyond the packerettes from coming back. Yep, it will be all over and coming from behind when down by 28 will never happen. Steelers by 16. Headlines read: STEELERS SHED Packers!!!

I’m NASCAR and baseball. My Brother in law is from Houghton Michigan and he’s a big Green Bay fan who lives in Detroit these days.

Love it Trisham... "Lambert Field..."

I remember coming home on leave for deer hunting back in the seventies. I really had no idea how dearly this state loves its Green Bay Packer football until I came home.

Every store, bar, or place you walked into on Sunday afternoon either had the game on the radio or on television. It was a real Revelation for me after being out of the state.

As Howie Carr was saying yesterday apparently Obama is remaining neutral regarding the game—neutral? You’re a Chicago Bears fan, allegedly, and you’re neutral? I would
think a true blue Bears fan would root for the team playing the rival Packers—that would be the Steelers, whose owner
endorsed B.O., I believe. By being neutral is he treading on eggshells to not offend football fans in either Wisc. or
Penn.?

If he is a Bears fan (all-be-it fair weather fan) and if he were a “real football fan” he would root for the Packers. A “true fan” would root for their teams conference to bring the Lombardy Trophy to their NFC or AFC. So, as a Rams fan I want the Packers to win, as they are representing the NFC.

Only when they’re playing at Lambert field.

Ummm, Lambert field is the airport in St. Louis. Sorry, you can’t play football on the runways.....

Maybe he should play this. Even just the audio is good:

And pretty relevant to this year’s superbowl.

Yes I guess the game is in a cold weather city this time around. It’s a winter wonderland in Texas!

But would Red Sox fans root for the Yankees as the AL
representative in a World Series?

Low power station that needs a repeater to reach Green Bay - 18 miles away.

WCHK is the #8 station in the #189 radio market.

Giving up zero listeners to gain all the publicity. A smart move.

Exactly. As a Packers fan, I root for team, division, conference. Period. My Kiwanis club is Bears/Packers fans 10-1 in number, but I don't know a Bears fan who isn't rooting for the Packers tomorrow.

As a life-long Packers, NFC fan, there's no way I'd root for an AFC team.

People in Green Bay wear Packer jerseys to funerals, weddings and church. I grew up there and now live less than 100 miles away. Even being that close now, there is a serious culture shock going back. The Packers are as deeply woven into the culture as can be. God, Packers, Family. Not always in that order.

If the station shut off their transmitters to save the electricity, no one would notice. No one goes out during regular season games - the Super Bowl will be even more pronounced. Green Bay - Chicago got a 60+ Rating in Green Bay (almost 2/3s of all TVs were tuned to the game(many of the others were probably off because people were viewing with others) To get publicity out of a zero listener period was brilliant.

No problem. We here in MA are unfortunate enough to have Kerry’s every vapid utterance thrust upon us.

:) I am hoping for a win by the Packers. I’m a fan of Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews. Especially Matthews.

I didn’t follow the link so had no idea you were referring to something there. I thought instead you were joking yourself, so that’s why I replied as I did. And, not caring to dwell on stupid comments from the likes of Kerry, I’d forgotten that stuff.

!!GO PACK!!

It's all right. :) I'm looking forward to the game. I'd love to see the Packers crush the Steelers.

I think we're going to make chili, and possibly buffalo wings. "Football food" is an important part to the experience. :)
