* William Bedsworth--This guy I've heard speak and read his (occasionally) hilarious columns. He's a very nice person but again, he thinks he knows better than the law of the land and likes to legislate from the bench.
Anyway, since you know them personally, tell us all about them, and I'm especially interested in your thoughts on Justice Bedsworth since that's the only one I personally know anything about and I would not vote for him.
These names were not on the original post. I know Justice Mareno well and have worked with him. Good justice. I know Justice Chin - one of the very best in the USA (VN vet - Rep). I don’t know the new Chief Justice, but have heard nothing bad. Div 4 is San Diego/OC, and I don’t know them other than by reputation. I’ve heard nothing to justify voting against them. If they are defeated the new CA governor will appoint the replacement. You don’t want to see a Brown appointee.
I know most of these judges also. Carlos Moreno is pleasant and dissents a lot, meaning he is not afraid to take a side; Ming Chin Chin is well-balanced so seems fair; Tani Cantil-Sakauye is the new appointed Chief Justice taking over for Chief Justice George;she is out of Los Angeles, so I don’t know her, but if she is Chief Justice George’s pick, she’s a good one. All I know about Judith McConnell is she has a great sense of humor and is very pleasant and friendly (very down to earth); Carol Codrington is the governor’s new appointment to Riverside, she is said to be a hard worker and also down to earth; Manuel Ramirez is a tyrant and an egomaniac—the amount of taxpayer money he has spent decorating and furnishing his courthouse in Riverside is obscene; David Sills is or was very ill, so is hardly ever at “work”; I don’t know Eileen Moore’s work in the appellate court, but she was a good superior court judge, so...; I don’t know William Bedsworth except I too have read his articles and he is very entertaining, but talks over ones head.
