It’s say’s “Aliens came and ran us out of our homes and THEN blah, blah blah”.

They used a mathematical method to quantify patterns contained within the symbols, in an effort to find out if they conveyed meaning.

Typical eggheads. Too educated to read simple pictograms.

Some hardy Scotsman needs to thump them upside the head and tell them to simply follow the story.

My border ancestors would laugh their kilts off at these numbskulls.

I tried to come up with a witty retort, but the topic’s been well-Pict over....

I’m Scots-Irish y’know

Me too, but it is Scot-Irish, not Scots. Plus I think is says, " a bunch of people got on horse and fought a bunch of people who were on foot".

They’ll need to find a bilingual, and/or an archive with longer texts, in order to make a go of it. Most of the known Pictish inscriptions (there is an “alphabetic” version) are short, found carved on stone monuments.

What did the farmer say as his tire came off while crossing the railroad tracks?

"You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel."

(ahem, just a bump for a GGG thread)

You forgot the oatmeal. Can’t have a haggis without lots of oatmeal.

Unlikely and seldom, if that.

Good Lord! We are truly the new Barbarians. She would have a reality show today doing tats on foolish young females. Now I know we are doomed, we are reverting to the dark ages. I wonder if her skin is blue , that will be the next fad for the lost generation.
