You might take a look at Mint ....it is based on Ubuntu with some added features done for you on the binary . A different touch on the maintenance...which works well for me...no problems ever so far.

I had a few with Ubuntu.

I have to agree with you about Mint. Its the best Linux distro i’ve used for a home PC. Better than Ubuntu or Debian.
