Can we get Boxer out of office without anyone having to actually touch her?

If Pelosi retires (or is defeated), she will be replaced by someone even more radical. It’s the mindset there that is another world. Just take everything you and I know to be right and wrong, and flip it upside down, and that begins to give you an idea.

DeVore and Campbell are politicians... Fiorina is from the business world... With all the economic mess, we need someone who has that as their strong suit...

And she destroyed Hewlett-Packard. Business is not her strong suit.

Fiorina has major flaws, the first of which that she hasn’t bothered to vote during most general elections throughout her life. Boxer will savage her with that fact.

Second, I am guessing that Fiorina will be a lousy debater. She’ll get a deer-in-the-headlights look when asked a foreign policy question, confuse Sierra Nevada with Sierra Leone.

Third, the voters in play in California (my home state) are not college-educated women, or the women’s vote in general, but blue-collar white and non-white males who might be registered Democratic but are ordinary guys, like sports and the military, etc. Fiorina will not get these male voters excited. These guys are the essence of tea party movement and the Scott Brown voters in Massachusetts.

My favorite candidate, Chuck DeVore, will pick up these votes. He’s a regular guy but also smart, and will run circles around Carly and Boxer. He’s very Reaganesque and is a strong conservative, but not dogmatic.

Suggest you widen your perspective. Check out Chuck’s youtube videos and tell me whether you think he’ll appeal to Joe (or Jose) Sixpack in our state.

Chuck DeVore sounds like a true Conservative.

Tom Campbell is polling well too.

Carly Fiorina has had success in the real world (and in a man’s world). You might have been just alittle to harsh on her. She may just win!

Guessing? I think we are all guessing. I was just thinking that a professional, no nonsense woman would play good against Boxer's emotional, uninformed airhead grandmother act.

Boxer has consistently beaten the standard Republican we have put up against her.

Boxer is a disgrace to California and getting rid of her should be our highest priority. Scott Brown in Mass. is no hardcore conservative. We should use the same strategy here. Our target is the independents and swing voters.

DeVore will not make it out of the GOP primaries. And if he somehow does, he will get slaughtered by Babs Boxer in the general election. As bad as things are in our state, the citizens (and illegals) will not vote in a "strong" conservative.

California is in a death spiral, yet nothing short of a complete and utter collapse of the state will cause it to veer hard right in the general election.

Suggest you learn more about DeVore before judging him. Carly will not get tea-party votes. And, frankly, 2010 looks to be a Republican year so someone as new as Chuck just might pull off a win.

I admit that Washington state elected two women, both of whom had zero political experience (Patty Murray and Liz Cantwell), but they are both air-headed liberals — Cantwell was a successful businesswoman like Carly and Murray was — well, to be polite, let’s just say she’s the only member of the US Senate whose seat was awarded on a low-IQ affirmative action scholarship.

That calculus might also work in California if Carly were a liberal and we were trying to beat a conservative. But the opposite is the case. And Hispanic voters, especially men, are fundamentally conservative and would be willing to flip for someone like Chuck. They flipped for Reagan, too, in the 1980s.

"Our target is the independents and swing voters."

I don't disagree with you but take a moment and analyze just who those swing voters are.

They are not college educated CA residents in general, and especially not college-educated women. Women will not vote for Fiorina because of her sex. They will stick with Boxer. Blue collar women will not vote for her either because of their sex.

For a Republican to win, the ones in play are MEN. White and Hispanic men, not college educated, who are Democrats or generally vote Democratic. Men who like football and the military. Men who voted for Reagan in droves in the 1980s because he wasn't a sissy like Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale.

This especially includes Hispanic men. They are not as liberal as everyone assumes and will vote for a "regular guy" as long as he is authentic. Perfect example: Chuck DeVore. That's why Hispanic men make such great US Marines when they are 18.

Do not assume that the default position for California would be a liberal Republican. I think Chuck DeVore would be far more competitive than perennial candidate (and loser) Tom Campbell and Carly ("I couldn't be bothered to vote until recently") Fiorina.

I am not against DeVore. I am saying he would be hard pressed to win in the general election against Boxer.

There's not much hope here in Silicon Valley. This area sometimes votes more left than San Francisco! When we visited San Diego and the surrounding areas last summer, we felt like we had left the state. Not sure how much longer it will be like this for San Diego, but we can see ourselves moving there in a few years when we retire.

John Dennis seems to be making a serious effort to unseat Pelosi. Last October he appeared at Western CPAC, which endorsed him, and even sat at my table. His website is available here.

Can she do for Kaleephornya what she did for Hewllet-Packard?

Great to see. Let’s hope the voters in her district have grow to detest Pelosi as much as the rest of the country has.

San Diego is our home and both north and east county are wonderful conservative places to live; also Ramona, Alpine, and Fallbrook. Housing values dropped significantly so that might work in your favor also. Good luck.
