Director Dick Powell, many of the actors (John Wayne, Susan Hayward, Pedro Armendariz, Thomas Gomez, Agnes Moorehead), and several of the crew members later fell victim to cancer, allegedly the result of producer Howard Hughes’ decision to lens the film on location near the atomic testing grounds in the Utah desert. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

My favorite co stars on Wayne films were Ward Bond, Pedro Armendariz, and Victor McLaughlin.

there is a b & w movie where the Duke plays a pharmicist from Boston visiting San Francisco to open a business.

The rich dude that ownes the town and his soon to be wed troph wife watch as the Duke makes his rounds in social parties......

.. after a while, the woman approaches the Duke and says

” I’ve been watchin you from afar, do you have ANY flaws ?”

the Duke looks, pauses, smiles and says “ Yes Ma’am, I tell the truth”

best line ever uttered
