He replied “put it on the camp! It belongs to those people now!”
Then the mini-guns slaughter the little bastards.
"You'd do it for Randolph Scott."
You’re questionin the memory of a guy who listed Geraldine Page as the lonely wife?
Not thinking about Alan Ladd (who happened to be my favorite movie star as a kid)as Shane, are ya?
And no, that wasn’t a Lammour book.
I was gonna suggest a Worst 10 group with Genghis being at the top of that list.
That sounds farmilar, but don’t remember it....he must have made hundreds of film over his career. I always liked him in Red River, thats an oldie but goody, geeze there were so many....Elvis may have been king, but Duke was THE MAN....
The Green Berets....was a decent movie.
besotted?
ha!!
It seems like a lot of the westerns were Louis Lamour. I have read everyone of his books but not all of his short stories...The Saggatt /sp series were all great. I was surprised to learn that he was tapped to write the Hopalong Cassidy stories after the original author died...
Yep, Alan Ladd played Shane......
This is going to go for days!
The Shootist was great!
I gotta go with,Sands of Iwo Jima as my fave,,,
Horse Soldiers is very close,,,
He waved at us as the parade came down the street for the
opening at the Strand theater,,,
We were on the 2nd floor in my Dad's office,,,
Dad whistled at him and he looked up,,,
One of my proudest times was at the USO Show in Dec.’67,,,
We could hear the crowd from 3-4 miles away,,,
Didn't get to see,,,
Our unit covered The Duke's back!...Waay Koool!...;0)
(((grin!)))
Have you seen that movie? If not, check it out. His going ga-ga over her is hilarious!
That was a good one************North to Alaska
James Cagney was quite a song and dance man...but could play a nasty basterd real good..Hubbys favoirite was Yankee Doodle Dandy also...
You were lucky to have a great view.......I never heard anything bad about the Duke, except his last wife left him when he got cancer and wouldn’t quit smoking (senior memory) may be open to debate...
LOL,,,I guess I’ve always been lucky,,,I’m still here,,,
The Duke was pretty lucky too,,,
I read that he was married to three Mexican women,,,
Only one of them shot at him when he came home from a
“Wrap Party” with Lipstick and Parfume on him,,,
Maybe in his younger days...;0)
1. Hatari!, the rest in no particular order, Sons of Katie Elder, Donovan’s Reef, 3 Godfathers, Blood Alley, North to Alaska, The Horse Soldiers, McLintock!, The Quiet Man and Without Reservations
Cagney's greatest performance, IMHO.
I think “She Wore A Yellow Ribbon” should have been his academy award winning performance. And I think “The Cowboys” should be in his top ten.
