Congrats on the new sidearm - HK7, that is a hefty gun for pocket carry. :-) however, it’s rather unique and a certain attention getter at your neighborhood range.

I’ve got one of those slip on grips as well, handy little dickens, and resuable.

Thanks for showing the side off view. So that’s what it looks like in there. Cool.

How’s the snow down your way? Just enough to cover the grass here. Starting to feel a bit like ‘Groundhog Day’ the movie version.

So glad to hear your Mom is on the mend. It’s wonderful when you like the folks who are there to help. It’s just nicer for everyone, all around.

I did some more research, and I have the P7PSP as adopted by the West German cops, complete with all the proof marks. Those imported by other than H&K had to grind off the proofs and refinish the slide.

I also learned that the P7M8 was the "American" version that had the mag release behind the trigger guard, rather than the heel of the frame. I think I prefer the German version. Magazines do not interchange between the PSP and M8.

And Trijicon makes tritium sights for it. This old police horse may get a technology upgrade yet.

Congrats on the new sidearm - HK7, that is a hefty gun for pocket carry. :-)

Only the little Beretta Tomcat is small and light enough for pocket carry, but it's the only one so far that has passed my holster and function tests. Everything else will have to hang from my belt.

So now my two top candidates are the Sig P239 in .40S&W and the HK P7PSP in 9mm. Both happen to be single-stackers, and both have single unambiguous modes of safing and firing. I want to make everything as foolproof as possible, even for myself.

I have a P7 M-13. Practiced with it etc yet to squeeze and shoot bugged the crap out of me so it isn't used to much shy of range days. It is very well made. Parts are hard to find where I am at so it's treated like a museum piece pretty much.

That said my favorite Deutsch Pistole is the P9S in 45 Auto.

Mine identical to this one ....(not the one in the photo) ... has had thousands of rounds through it courtesy of uncle sams need for my EOD team to destroy bad lots of ammo ! We destroyed a lot of it one round at a time till thumbs got sore from loading magazines etc .... then remainder of it was burned sadly. Never a problem with the P9S.

Pretty cute!!

We've ~lost~ our ground squirrel. Don't know if the return of the grackles scared him away or if some raptor swooped down and grabbed him. He would have made a good catch after all the sunflower seeds he's eaten this winter :(

I’m revising my garden strategy...kittehs like rolling around in my beds where the peas are trying to come up. So what’ll happen to the lettuce?

I want to get the artichokes, horseradish, and some Yukon Golds planted today. If my back holds up I’ll dig out the blueberry bed.

Getting a mite breezy out there. We leveled out the ground where the old stump (black locust) has finally gone to mulch. Dug dandelions. Daffodils are up and blooming; about 25 clumps and at least a dozen flowers per clump. That is looking pretty nice so it figures that we’ll have 40 mph wind gusts and thunderstorms tonight. Oh, well, enjoy ‘em while we got ‘em.

I got the artichokes, horseradish, and some potatoes planted. Also planted some lettuce, carrots, beets, salsify, and lavender. I put out some compost and turned the pile.

I didn’t dig the whole blueberry bed...I settled for digging out 2’ holes around where they’ll be planted in a couple of weeks.

Wow, you were busy! I’ve been outside digging up those darn wild onions but the wind is just too fierce. Had to bring a floor fan up ‘cause Gypsy’s panting. We may shave her tummy again when the weather heats up for good.

The backyard is so perplexing. On the south side, we’ve got really deep shade from the silver maples next door, which would great for building a brick patio, since nothing will grow there. Except, when the sun goes down in the west, that same area becomes this shining blast furnace because of the ~holes~ in the tree limbs and the dang 6’ wooden fence which holds the heat in. As it is, it is ugly, ugly, ugly.

Now that I’m in, I think I’ll take a nap. OB is at the muzzleloadingrange.

Did you get any hail? It was coming down pretty good here for 3-4 minutes. Bigger than pea size but smaller than ping pong balls, so that’s good.

Woo Hoo!

Bulky Item Pickup Day has been rescheduled for next month. Now I’ve got some time to begin Operation De-Clutter.
