Someone on a tennis message board heard “I am going to take this ball and shove it down her throat”
A foot fault occurs if you touch the white line or the court prior to hitting the ball after you’ve started your service motion.
LOL!
May be a sad way for Kim to win it, but Kim had been beating Serena all night and was ahead at the time of the infraction.
Sorry to see the Compton, California side of Serena surface.
I have never liked the Williams sisters. Nuf said!
Whoa. Up her a**? I’d say that’s a threat of physical violence. Sounds like she abuses her bf, or gf. Right on, judge.
Well, I believe Yael T. Abouhalkah, who wrote that column, could have left the reportedly out of his phrase reportedly yelled obscenities.
Jimmy Connors was pretty bad too. He yelled “You are an abortion!” to a Chair Umpire once!
Funny...I watched the clilps from the press conference...the one thing that I *didn’t* hear was an *apology*. She didn’t actually take ownership or responsibility for what she did...just this “gotta get past it” stuff. It wasn’t like when Tiger Woods got reprimanded for supposedly disrespecting an official. Williams went out of her way to drop several “F”-bombs on her. Woods’ indiscretion was NOTHING compared to this embarrassment.
Whoa. Serena probably lost endorsement bonuses for not winning the match. What else could make her that p***d?
I found his name interesting too ;) I figure it is a made-up name.
From the (Youtube) Serena purple panty angle, it clearly looks like she stepped on the line. But I guess the LINE judge has the best angle.
No acceptance of personal responsibility. Instead of an apology, it was the “everybody does it” defense. I didn’t buy it when she acted shocked to be accused of the larger threat.
Being a whiny athlete is not very becoming.
Well, I was not there and did not see what happened. That said, I believe the judge “acted stupidly.”
That’s exactly right. You can clearly see Serena point with the ball saying “I’m going to take this ball and shove it down your throat!” Now whether or not it was match point to me is really irrevalent. If Serena played better this probably doesn’t happen.
She was already given a warning for tossing her racket at the end of the first set. Serena needs to know better and keep her cool. A fine certainly is coming. A suspension? I wouldn’t want to make that decision.
If she would have owned up to it and apoligized it would have said a lot. I will give her some credit for showing up for the presser. I give Kim Clijsters a lot more credit for staying cool and for being the better player out there.
threatened to shove the F $$$$$ ball up the refs behind .
i guess you cant say that in tennis .
she said very nasty words... you can see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHHPHpahu20
she really lost it.
she threatens that line jugde in a very ghetto way.
but i am not agree with that line jugde call because it is stupid too call a very little, tiny foot fault in a big moment of the game and tournament
but she deserved to be expelled because of the very nasty words.. very degrading...
Wasn’t that line judge an Asian-American? If so, obviously a racist.
