Memories of the Chaparral 2J. Used lexan ground effects skirts and a Sachs snowmobile engine to power two fans in the ass-end of the car that sucked air out from under it.

This was the only angle the competition ever got to see it from. It was un-catchable.

Given the flexibility that having a YUGE electrical storage battery brings to the mix, I'm not surprised someone decided to build a road car that sucks. That said, where does the air go? It's a legit concern because the people trying to catch the 2J claimed its driver would deliberately steer for loose grave on the track, because it would get sucked up and blown out the back. As if they needed a cheap trick to be faster than anything else on wheels.

So what happens if you run over grass clippings or plastic shopping bags or small mexikin children? Does it pose a danger to other motorists when those get chopped up and blown out the back? Or top. Or side, as case may be.

Not that I care, truth be told, 'cuz even if I had a mil to spend on a car, I damn sure wouldn't spend it on anything that ugly.

And OBTW,if that thing truly will do 0-60 in 1.4 seconds, there are some know-it-alls in the main forum who'll be feasting on crow for a spell, because they've sworn on a stack of Newton's Principia Mathematica that no road-going car will ever have a 0-60 of less than 2.0 seconds.

Hall had to retire the car here at the Glen because they repaved parts of the track, and the car was sucking up chunks that stuck to the inside of the housing...
