Thanks for the video. The 1965-67 F1 cars were the most beautiful machines ever, even if they were all power and not very safe. I had a replica 66 Lotus for the slot car track my dad made for us; it was my favorite.

Those drivers had guts, I’ll give them that. And for me, the period 1966-1980 was the Golden Age of auto racing.

I completely concur. The '67 Lotus is THE singularly most wonderful sample of an open wheel racing car ever constructucted. Perhaps the closed cockpit Jaguars (1990s IMSA) or Porsche 917s may rival IMO, but those wide rear tires just move my soul.

And Clark died in 1968 at Hochenheim.

He was among the all time F1 greats. Fangio, Senna, Schumacher, and you add your own to the short list.

One hell of a last few laps at Spa!

I can’t remember the last time I saw 4 F1 cars going at it like that except at the start.

Poor Hammy just can’t get a break.

Haas F1 Team...new name: What was initially known as Haas Formula is now Haas F1 Team. Gene Haas, founder of Haas Automation and chairman of the newly renamed Haas F1 Team, opted for the name change to better correlate his team with motor racing's most prestigious series - the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. Haas F1 Team takes the place of the previous name, Haas Formula, which will remain the legal entity. Haas F1 Team will be the public and commercial name of the first American-led Formula One team since 1986. Its Website, www.HaasF1Team.com, launched on Tuesday. The FIA granted Haas a Formula One license in April. Well before then, ground was broken on an 11.600 square-meter (125,000 square-foot) facility adjacent to Haas' NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team in Kannapolis, North Carolina, that will house the Haas F1 Team. Construction is scheduled to be completed in November. Haas' motorsports holdings include the Haas F1 Team, NASCAR's Stewart-Haas Racing and Windshear.(TSC).(9-3-2014)

Smart choice on both Haas and Ferrari's part! They both need help and this may work out well for both.

At worst Haas will at least get a Ferrari dealership out of this............

FIA confirms 20-race calendar for 2015

Formula One racing’s governing body, the FIA, has published the calendar for the 2015 world championship following a meeting of its World Motor Sport Council in Beijing on Thursday.

It features 20 rounds, including the return of Mexico in November. The Mexican race will take place at the same venue which staged the country’s last Grand Prix in 1992 - Mexico City’s Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.

The expanded calendar means the 2015 season will finish one week later than in 2014, with the Abu Dhabi finale taking place on the final weekend in November.

The 2015 calendar in full:

15/03 Australia
29/03 Malaysia
05/04 Bahrain
19/04 China
10/05 Spain
24/05 Monaco
07/06 Canada
21/06 Austria
05/07 Britain
19/07 Germany
26/07 Hungary
23/08 Belgium
06/09 Italy
20/09 Singapore
27/09 Japan
11/10 Russia
25/10 USA
01/11 Mexico
15/11 Brazil
29/11 Abu Dhabi

FIA to limit radio transmissions on car performance

Formula One racing’s governing body, the FIA, has informed the teams that they must refrain from making pit-to-car radio transmissions relating to the performance of the car or driver.

The move follows recent media scrutiny about the amount of information being given to drivers by their race engineers, particularly in terms of how they can gain lap time.

F1 race director Charlie Whiting underlined the fact that Article 20.1 of the sporting regulations - which states that "the driver must drive the car alone and unaided" - must be respected at all times.

“No radio conversation from pit to driver may include any information that is related to the performance of the car or driver,” Whiting wrote.

“We should also remind you that data transmission from pit to car is specifically prohibited by Article 8.5.2 of the F1 Technical Regulations.”

The directive will be enforced from next week’s race in Singapore, round 14 of the 2014 FIA Formula One World Championship.
