Forgive my ignorance but what are “pullets”? Sounds like whatever they are I need some.....

pullets = Girl Chickens
roosters = Boy chickens.

Our Boys free range all day, and have done a job on the bugs. The girls I keep penned up, because the boys are good roosters and I don't have that many girls.

I thought that pullets are “girl chickens” while hens are “woman chickens,” and that cockerels are “boy chickens” while roosters are “man chickens,” so to speak, like this:

Babies: peeps (either sex)

Children: pullets (female) and cockerels (male)

Adults: hens (female) and roosters (male)
