AAAARRRRKKK the big birds ....and we have plenty...The Eagles moved in a year or so ago....Owls, vultures, turkeys won’t hurt the chickens...But the hawks..... Have trouble even keeping fish in pond with the blue herons, small blues and night herons....and occasional Ospry....

Even Rascal runs from their shadows, she doesn’t look up to see what it is. An Owl swooped down over her when she was a puppy, ALL big birds now produce a run to the porch..

Chickens are sounding less and less of a possibility

I see "chicken tractors" on the net. You could build a sturdy one of those and move it around to different spots that needed the "attention". Stake it down to keep the predators from getting under the edge.
