This discussion is not over this one post. This is a pattern I have seen repeatedly on FR over the last several months. I have several other friends who frequent FR and have made the same comments. I got an email from a conservative news site just yesterday asking if I could help them be recognized as a news site on FR... to which I of course said NO!

I chat with numerous conservative news outlets on a regular basis and there is a growing frustration with their worthy products being downgraded to personal message board status on FR.

I don't even remember how long I've been reading and posting here, but my memory says several years now.

Nobody here seems worried about any of that... So be it!

The MSM dumped the conservative message decades ago. Google, AOL, Yahoo and MSN all try to strip conservative news from search results under the heading of “hate speech.” Pelosi, Reid and Obama are hot on Limbaugh's trail.

Why shouldn't FR silence the conservative voice as well?

Pravda is banned? I have seen Pravda postings-usually COLB threads.

They need to improve their product then. I don't believe that this site is in the business of marketing other's sites. If they don't have the respected authority they want, they need to work on it, not blame someone else. For example, that Canada Free Press site you posted, I am browsing that, and while it has some decent articles, it is pretty amateurish in the way it is put together. The writers also need to put a little more attention into improving small things like grammar and spelling. There are tens of thousands, if not millions of similar sites out there, they should make themselves stand out, not demand others respect them. There are also several blogs and other non-traditional sources that have become well respected. Think about HotAir, PatriotPost, AtlasShrugged, PajamasMedia, Townhall- all sites that are essentially blogs but have done the work to make themselves stand out. Townhall even has become so powerful, it is the most respected Conservative magazine and their authors have become famous commentators (for example, MaryKatherine Ham and S.E. Cupp). They did this by producing content that people respected, not just throwing content out there and demand that people respect.

I would even go so far as to say, if I saw a source pull what they say they do with you, write and complain they aren't respected, it would completely discredit them in my mind... I would not trust them as a source.

In the age of blogs, there are millions of voices on the internet. Do you want EVERYONE who thinks they are the next Michelle Malkin to post their own Front Page News thread? As another poster noted, quality writing, by its own merit, both floats to the top of the heap and gets people looking for columns by that author.

I’ve been reading this thread as time allows, and I don’t think your “conservative voice” has been silenced.

Did you notice that over 400 people have looked at the article in question that you posted?

Plus you are approaching 300 replies on this thread. You’re famous!

Here is another perspective. FreeRepublic isn't just some news board, we are one of the most respected political news sites on the net. We get higher posts than the Washington Times, NY Post, and many other major newspapers.

Think about it like a manufacturer trying to get in to Wal Mart. Everyone wants in, only a few are worthy to play. This isn't just some forum, this is the premier Conservative political site. Are they worthy of this site?
