SHE is every inch the Hollywood superstar.

Long, glossy hair, snow-white teeth, and a slim yet curvy figure most of us can only dream about.

Yet, despite having the dosh to spend thousands on a strict celebrity beauty routine, film star Catherine Zeta Jones has a few surprising beauty secrets she just can’t live without – beer, honey and a spot of fishing!

Catherine, 39, a self-confessed cosmetics junkie, admits: “I am absolutely devoted to cosmetics.

“I came out of the womb wearing make-up, and I never leave home without my eyelash curler.”

But far from relying on posh facials more in keeping with her celebrity image, Catherine believes looking good does not have to mean shelling out.

And though she is the face of cosmetics firm Elizabeth Arden, the Oscar-winning actress is more than happy to resort to more natural methods to looking good.

Dear Maureen;

The real difference seems to be that she’s happy ... and you’re a harpy.

Oh, what a difference one little letter makes.

In the age of the internet, Dowd is CZJ’s portrait in the attic (Dorian Grey).

Cosmetic surgery hasn’t hurt her either.

There are photos from the ‘80s in which the full extent of her reconstruction is obvious.

She is indeed a triumph of cosmetological engineering in her own way as grand as the Panama Canal.

My mother looked so much like her as a young woman...as if they were twins. I always felt I had the prettiest mother on the block and in the school. When I first saw Catherine Zeta Jones on screen I thought about my mother, who lived to age 83. They were both born with this natural beauty that other women strive for and never can achieve, even with makeup, plastic surgery, etc. It is a product of genes, bone structure, luck, life circumstances, and many other factors. But, I hasten to say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And, what is beautiful to some cultures is not in others.

No, the real difference is that Maureen is already starting to look like the Wicked Witch of the West (check out that nose and chin - Egads!).

Catherine Zeta Jones reveals her beauty secret

Compare what she says in the article to what she actually does. If hiring expensive plastic surgeons is going natural, I suppose she's being honest...

If you spend enough on surgery, you can afford to have beauty secrets of “...beer, honey and a spot of fishing!
