I agree completely - this sort of racist political indoctrination MUST NOT BE TOLERATED.
My God, I live in the bluest of blue states (MA), with three kids in the public school system of our town, and it's not that bad. The schools did waste an hour and half of the day watching the coronation, but two of our kids refused to watch it and they were not reprimanded or called racist. There also was no assignment for mandatory written worship.
