I never watched the show (I don’t watch any tv these days, zero zip nada) but I heard Janine Turner on Laura Ingraham’s show talking about her decision when she went to work on this program. She moved to Texas (to get away from Hollywood) and raise her daughter (she’s conservative and pro-life). She gets some stares in Austin for her GOP bumper stickers but she seems to like the show.
Lyla—one of the major characters—is portrayed as a Christian and it’s one of the most positive characterizations of that type I’ve seen on TV (although, I don’t watch TV much). I hope the writers continue to develop her character that way. I am not a Christian per se, but it upsets me when they are portrayed in a negative light.
