ellsbury is hitting leadoff though and if he’s not going to get on base then he’s a major liability.
If I was Francona I’d move Drew back to leadoff (walks/OBP) and push ellsbury to 8th. Losing Lowell has certainly hurt them this postseason
I haven’t followed the Rays that closely.
But you’re right. A lead-off hitter in the lineup should be productive.
