I remember Yaya from so many years ago - long time passing. She was not just another pretty face; she had a mind, a finely honed one, and that is why I remember her. Sad news. Time races on, and takes its toll. RIP Yaya. I will remember the good times - always.

Makes one think of the important things in life...I think sometimes we let the worries of the day get the best of us.

God, family, country and friendship. Nourish and cherish them. I guess most of all I need to hear that myself...Bless all those who mourn. He will comfort.

OMG... what sad news. YaYa123 was one of my favorite FReepers... I can't believe this. I didn't realize she was ill.

My husband and I had the pleasure of meeting this fine Georgia peach in person at the White House tour in August, 2001 arranged by Angelwood and the DC FReepers. I remember YaYa as being so nice and SO funny!

SuzanneC: Please convey our condolences and prayers to Linda's family... YaYa was loved here at FR, and will be missed by many.

CAL... great to see you back on FR. What sad news about YaYa123... I’m still in shock. I met YaYa only once at the August 2001 White House tour with the group of FReepers. Such a fine lady, and so loved by all here at FR. She’ll be missed for a long, long time...

Thanks for the ping. Sad to hear of her passing. She was a gem indeed. I was just thinking about her the other day. Tends to happen when I peruse through older threads and she was one of the main posters back in the early days of FR.

Thank you for the thread SuzanneC & everyone for the memories (and esp photos to this graphic nut here) on this remarkable woman who was there for her family, her friends and her country

The good memories of life are the glue of sanity and there are abundant ones in FReeperland for YaYa123

Her example of activism tempered with respect & good manners is one we all need to observe AND emulate

My memories of her are in my earlier postings, not having discovered FR until 2003. I treasure the times now that I can get together with my FR friends.. in DC, local trips but keeping close on line is the start

Keeping respectful & taking the higher ground is vital. It is good to see some friends here again.. many are scattered here & there for now but it is always nice to come back to a place where the soul & mind were titillated with friendship & intelligence.

And your soul is with your creator dear YaYa123.......

Condolences to her family.

Thank you for sharing the story of how you almost got to go to lunch with Tony Snow and a bunch of Freepers. There are some fine, fine people in this community, and sometimes we forget that when we get into an intellectual food fight.
