I just finished 13 Moons by Chas. Frazier which was pretty good...not as good as Cold Mountain but almost.

Before that, I read The Secret Servant by Daniel Silva which someone upthread mentioned and recommended. This is an Israeli spy thriller-it is a series and is very current.

I am about to pick up an Ian Rankin book next..the Inspector Rebus series.

Re: Grisholm....I will never buy another book of his. I was going to give the ones I have by him away to the thrift shop but then I decided it might encourage whoever bought them to buy some of his books. So I will keep them, for now.

In 1967, spent about 5 months in a field area about 10 miles north of the Ia Drang battle site..It was definitely one of the spookiest areas we were in while over there.

Have read accounts of the battle and it was a long and vicious battle which lasted for days. Hair raising stuff if you are into non-fiction war books...One of the best books on that battle is “ We wWere Soldiers Once..and Young: Ia Drang, the Battle That Changed The War” by Lt.Gen. Harold G. and Joseph Galloway...

Another highly recommended book is “ The End of the Line: The Seige at Khe San” by Robert Pisor...The weather had turned bad and our guys, mostly Marines, were stuck on a mountaintop fortification for 2 months while the surrounding NVA pounded them with everything they had. This is their story.

“For Fun- Knights of the Black and White by Jack Whyte.”

What is this? I read his Camulod series. Is this another book in the series? I read he was not writing another one after the Lance Thrower.

Re-read them over the past 30 years probably a hundred times.

For me, maybe not a HUNDRED, but several times.;)

Spy was awesome. I’m struggling to listen to even ten minutes straight of “4 hour” but I have an audible account so that was my selection for the month. I prefer fiction in audiobooks. Any suggestions?

Am finishing “ The Day the War ended “ by Martin Gilbert. Gilbert is a wonderful historian and a favorite of mine.
-
Have started “ Greenback “ by Jason Goodwin which is a history of paper money in the US.

am thinking of re-reading “ Paul Revere and the World he lived in “ by Forbes. Fantastic book which is not just about Revere but gives an account of life in colonial New England.

I just wish I had more time to read.
