Quix, what have you learned abour the “drone” and why do you call it that?
Did you know that Kenneth Arnold was involved in another incident later, the Maury Island incident in Puget Sound. He wrote a book about it and his nephew, my good HS friend, has a copy of it. It involved casualities in a REAL X files encounter north of Portland OR. Can fill you in on the details...
I thik my thoughts and seDiments about the drone are encompassed in the ISAAC’s website link and in the ATS CARET thread link above.
I call it a drone because most of those discussing it call it a drone. It also looks like a drone—too small to carry people . . . unless maybe it’s a Tardis . . . which it does not appear to be.

I was a kid then, and I remember my fascination when I read the newspaper story, and it was BIG news. I don't remember anyone having a television set at that time, so the word was spread only by newspapers.
No one believed the government story then that it was just a weather balloon, and most of us still don't believe it.
I was born in 1947. So, I kind of have a special . . . connection beyond my Jr High School on study of the subject.
Certainly we heard stories here in New Mexico . . . and had our own fly over by droves of them in 1957. And the crash in Aztec, I forget what year.

My Mom and Dad and many others clearly saw a cigar-shaped UFO about that same time here in the harbor area of Los Angeles while they were at a gas station. It was the talk of the town!
I was much younger, but I also remember the incident in the L.A. harbor area in 1942 during WW2 when it was reported that we had fired upon a supposed Japanese attack from the sea. I have read since that some believe it could have been UFO-related. Who knows? I remember the siren alert, which was our warning to put dark curtains over the windows, and we went out in the yard and saw gunfire in the sky from the battery at Fort McArthur. I think they referred to it as "The Battle of L.A.".
My youth group leader, when I was in high school, told us a bit about this. His dad was in the Air Force, I think he worked there at Roswell at some point. Anyways, I don’t remember details, but he said this “story” about Roswell, wasn’t a story...it was true. What most stands out was his fear to say anything more, because, IIRC, of government capabilities to pick up conversations.....that was very creepy to me, as a teenager to think about, too.

The government has had the capacity to filter electronic communications and even snail mail for quite a number of decades. At least 3 decades that I can be fairly certain of.
And the parabolic microphones have been around a long time.
And who knows when the black ops folks had lasers-on-windows-capacities to pick up convrsations in distant rooms.
Then there’s the telephones being able to be turned into a microphone even when on the hook. And that was with the old rotary dial versions. Some insisted it was only on phones secretly modified to afford that capacity. But I’m not so sure. I hope that was true.
I doubt it’s true now. Certainly all cell phone traffic is vulnerable as well as all regular phone service.
Court warrants are and have been a non-issue for at least 30 years . . . a non issue because every phone line was accessible regardless.
IIRC,
the WWII flap WAS about UFO’S. And an extensive prolonged one it was with anti-aircraft fired at them etc. I don’t remember many other details . . . though I don’t think many other details have ever been published.
My memories are from about 30 years ago....so it’s difficult to have precise recall. I was, nevertheless, left with lasting impressions. I don’t recall thinking he was worried about his phone being wired; it was more like satellite capabilities, even then, or something advanced like that. We were all at his house the day he was telling us the little bit he did. I’ve always wondered what the full story was; he plainly stated he could not say anything further. I think he said if he said too much.....it would place him (and maybe his family) in jeopardy. (It’s also possible his father was in the Army...I just can’t recall.)
I recently was told (last year), this same type of thing from someone in the FAA; that we obtained our information from the alien crafts at Roswell.
And that's the above-ground stuff. I have suspected for some time that there are military and/or intelligence organizations that exist entirely outside the budgetary and constitutional system of the U.S. government. After all, the U.S. and its NATO allies had entire secret armies Europe that existed separately from and external to the NATO chain of command; these were known by a variety of names (the Italian one was called "Gladio"). These "stay behind" forces were designed to operate behind the lines during World War 3, fighting the Soviet invaders in each NATO country. These "Gladio" armies had their own chains of command, funding sources, and administration, and were kept almost completely secret until the USSR collapsed. Likewise, for all we know, there could be agencies that were set up during the Cold War as "Gladio" operations, still operating today using their own funding and chains of command. Who knows — there might be an agency so secret that even the president doesn't know about it...
Of course, there also might not be. It may be that what we see as Reality is all the Reality that exists — but I doubt it. I think everyone subconsciously knows that there is more going on in this crazy world than meets the eye — and that less of it than we think happens by chance. And so the mysteries remain unsolved: the JFK, RFK, MLK and George Wallace shootings; Vincent Foster's death; the Reagan assassination attempt; the Bilderberg Group; John Lennon's murder; TWA 800; the sudden collapse of the Soviet Empire, UFOs. It may be true that "shit happens" on its own, but we should never forget that sometimes shit is made to happen as well.
I read about that in a book by Lt. Colonel Philip Corso called "The Day After Roswell". Fascinating, huh?
