AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 2229) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | April 30, 2007 | All of Us

Posted on 04/30/2007 4:34:12 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

As we settle into the nighttime of despair, fret not, for the Sun will rise again!!

Good morning!!

We, here, will never forget those who died on September 11, 2001, as we seek to protect the Republic from all who will do her harm!!

Impeachment.

That's the threat that Murtha, now Chairman of the Defense Subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee, says the House must use if the President doesn't accept their will for surrender in Iraq.

Of course, this is not surprising. Many of us expected the cries for such a move to occur sometime during the last two years of this Administration. The other party would love nothing more than to erase that blot on their history--the only elected President ever to have been impeached.

So, we need to get this straight.

Apprarantly, in Mr. Murtha's mind, it is all right to engage in oral sex in the Oval Office, be pleasured while discussing ongoing military operations with the United States Senate, commit perjury, solicit the American people en masse to be accomplices in the crime, mislead the Congress about a criminal act, engage the armed forces of the United States to deflect public scrutiny, threaten Members of Congress with exposure of their backgrounds unless they keep silent, allegedly rape women, all the while professing to do the work of the American people.

Apparently, however, it is not all right to be engaged in an enterprise to ensure the Third World War does not spill over into our own territory. In other words, Representative Murtha believes President Bush should be...

...Impeached for undertaking his Constitutional duty to protect the Consitution (which is "We the people") from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Yet a new standard on the hypocracy meter. This one's going to be hard to beat.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Good morning.

Molly, I usually take Advil, but ran out so I ended up with Tylenol.

In all honesty aspirin works best for me for headaches and pain, but I'm afraid to take much more of that so I try to switch occassionally.

Feel better soon, lysie...

Heading out after I catch up with a couple of emails...

One of my cousins sent me a beautiful photo of herself and her daughter, recently married. Very sweet!

Confession time. I think I know why I had the headache.

For months I haven't had ice cream, cake, pie..sweets, or bread. Last night I had two fudgies.

Wow!! That sugar went right to my head.

I feel better after having one cup of coffee.

Thanks for the start and the excellent (albeit accurately cynical) summation of the state of American politics today. Is there a Democrat in office who is NOT a power-grubbing, rank hypocrite? (And that’s NOT a rhetorical question.)

Molly, thanks again for the ping list AND your faithfulness in posting marvelous links each day. When I’m in a hurry, it’s nice to know where I can go for the “good stuff”, LOL!

Newsbee, let me add my welcome to ATRW! I haven’t been here too long myself, but the good folks here have always made me feel welcome (and answered my weird gardening posts with kindness and expertise).

Dear lysie;

I hope your headache goes away soon! I’m one of those for whom Tylenol is wholly ineffective, so I take Advil for headaches (thankfully, not many) and whatever else other aches and pains I have, or very occasionally baby aspirin if I’m going to be flying, to hopefully prevent blood clots.

If coffee clears up your headaches, you might have a caffeine addiction, or if chocolate fudgies cause a headache, you might have a salicylate problem. Dolly has and sent me a great list of what foods to avoid if you have a salicylate allergy. Unfortunately, one of the things you have to avoid with that is aspirin itself. :(

"I love to read, garden and fish. (I just finished a Master Garden Class from Purdue U., I am now a Master Gardener Intern.)"

Good Morning Newsbee! Welcome.

yeah....a master gardener. ;)
You are in good company we have a lot of folks here who have really helped me with my gardening problems.

Have a question, husband and I went to a new home complex yesterday and their landscaping was beautiful. (probably very expensive) there was one particular shrub/bush that caught my eye and I WANT IT for our garden.

We went to a local gardening center here in TX but the man there claimed it looked like Kale, (which I don't think it is) I will try to best describe it and any and all suggestions are welcome

The leaves are of a dark purple almost frosted look, it grows fairly high, about 6-8 in from the ground, it has a pretty yellow flower growing from out of the middle. I very much doubt it is kale as kale is a cabbage and is round and low to the ground, this shrub/bush is not.

Also the dark purple leaves have frilly ends. HELP I want it..:)

stopem, it does sound like a ornamental cabbage”. I don’t use them in my flower beds.

Many varieties of kale are referred to as “flowering kales” and are grown mainly for their ornamental leaves, which are brilliant white, red, pink, lavender, blue or violet in the interior or the rosette. Most plants sold as “ornamental cabbage” are in fact kales.

I have long wondered, are those flowering kales edible? Just curious.

Thank you for outing yourself as a Master Gardener. I am an amateur and often pose questions. Illstillbe has been very patient to answer my queries, but it is good to have an additional voice.
